I apologize for not posting a second post last week, but things got a little crazy. This semester I am taking three demanding classes including one weekend intensive course, so needless to say it’s been a little bit difficult to stay on top of everything.
Either way, I’m excited that I was able to finally break out my new shoes this week. I love a good nude shoe, and I love wearing flats to work. I’ve been pining for these Tory Burch Caroline flats for a long time. They’re a little pricey, but the neutral color makes them worth the investment.
If you’re in the Northeast I hope you’re finding a way to stay warm, and if you’re in the South like me I hope you’ve been enjoying the sunshine!
Today has been so crazy. I’ve had a couple of meetings that I didn’t feel super prepared for and my car didn’t start this morning, so I had to rely on a couple of very generous coworkers and friends to chauffeur me around today. And as soon as I’m done writing this, I’ve got to get writing those two papers I have due tomorrow. Eek!
Anyway, if you are looking for a go-to wardrobe item that works year-round with essentially any top, this is your skirt. I LOVE a good black pencil skirt. Plus this “midi” version is a little on the trendy side because of it’s longer length. However, because the skirt hits below the knee, I recommend wearing it with heels to make sure you don’t lose length in your legs, visually.
Hope everyone else’s short work week is off to a great start!
I love finding chic ways to stay a little warmer in the winter, and this vest is the perfect layer to add to an outfit. I remember when I tried it on I felt instantly warmer in the fitting room (and I’m ALWAYS cold.).
A few of the bloggers and magazine articles I’ve read lately have hinted that they are tired of hearing the phrase “pop of color,” but I’m not! Especially when wearing a monochromatic outfit, I love adding a little pizazz with my accessories. This Kate Spade tote – which is on sale – does exactly that. Admittedly, I ordered this bag online and it is quite a bit larger than I expected. Have no fear though, it can hold all of the essentials and then some!
First ever outfit post! I thought I’d start with navy and maroon, which constitutes one of my favorite color combinations. Plus, marsala (which I basically consider to be maroon – or pretty close to it) is Pantone’s 2015 color of the year. I love these colors together so much that I’m slowly amassing a collection of navy sweaters and tops to go with these maroon corduroys. I also have a pair of maroon slacks and a woolly pencil skirt that I wear instead of the corduroys sometimes. It’s good to have some variety, right?
Side note, if you are in the market for a new purse to splurge on, I’m loving my new Tory Burch tote. It’s just big enough to hold all of my work-day essentials, including my iPad.
It has been a goal of mine to start a blog for a while now, and here it is! I hope everyone’s year is off to a great start. Aside from the lack-of-caffeine-headache due to giving up Starbucks (one of my new year’s resolutions), 2015 is pretty great so far. My husband treated me to a shopping trip in Dallas as my Christmas present, and let me tell you, the after Christmas sales were pretty fantastic!
The good news is the sales aren’t quite over yet, and here are some of my favs:
