Wow! It’s been FOREVER since I’ve had a chance to blog! Among other things, school has got me crazy busy. When I’m not reading cases or briefing cases or writing papers, I’m usually trying to eat, sleep, or possibly exercise. I think it’s going well so far, but I do wish I could blog (and shop!) more frequently.
Anyway, now it’s officially fall! I know everybody is getting excited about the weather changing and all the fun things autumn has to offer, even if you’re in Arkansas like me and it’s still 90 degrees outside. Have no fear! You can go ahead and start dressing in fall colors, even if the weather isn’t conducive to pulling out the jackets, furs, and leather just yet. I am loving these new shoes, for instance. Pointy-toe flats are an easy update to your wardrobe, and the combination of maroon and rose pink is on fleek! I actually found these while doing some online shopping for a friend. It was love at first sight!
Hope your work (or school) week is going well and that your pumpkin spice latte’s (or frappuccinos as the weather may call for) are delicious!
Whew! I finally feel like I’m getting into the swing of things at Law School. I’m not sure that means I’m doing well, but I think I’m past the point of drowning in my reading and homework assignments. It’s definitely a balancing act of trying to do your best, even though your best may mean not getting to read every case or do every assignment as thoroughly as you would like. I’m really enjoying the material we are learning, at least in most of my classes. And I’m finding time to think about things like, what I’m going to wear each day – trying to look nice was a real struggle those first couple weeks of school.
If you’re ever at a loss for what to wear or if you’re in a hurry (which if you’re like me, you’re in a hurry every morning) grabbing an article of clothing with stripes is a solid foundation for a good outfit. That’s why I love this skirt! (Worn previously here). The last time I wore it, I dressed it up a bit more, so for a casual take I paired it this time with a tee and a denim jacket. I probably could have also thrown on a pair of sneakers for a similarly casual effect. Lately I’ve also been carrying a smaller purse. Let’s face it hauling around a backpack full of law school books and a laptop is no joke. There isn’t much more room on your person for anything else.
By the way, if you didn’t see it on my Facebook or Twitter page, a couple of weeks ago I was featured on the Arkansas Women Bloggers site with a post about sizzling work attire!
Aye ye ye, it has been at least two weeks since my last post! Law School quickly takes a toll on your time. It has been a MAJOR adjustment working to get to class on time and get all my homework done, much less be able to do things like eat and sleep and ya know, breathe. This outfit was the most dressed up I got during the first week of school. This drapey top and leopard print flats make up one of my go-to outfits, especially when I’m in a rush. I’m starting to get into more of a routine and feeling more like myself, but it is definitely going to take a while before I get completely used to the demands of law school.
